Snowy Saturday Predicted

Crystal Drive during the 2009 SnowpocalypseYesterday forecasters were predicting an inch of snow for Saturday. Now the Capital Weather Gang is predicting 2-4 inches of snow and warning that precipitation totals could reach even higher. Check back with us tomorrow as we program the brand new arlnow.com police scanner and monitor the snow’s impact on the community. The announcement from Arlington County Alerts is after the jump.

Snow and cold temperatures are forecasted for our region this weekend. In the event of snow accumulation or icy conditions, Arlington County will activate its crews to safely treat and clear priority roadways, followed by other public streets. Residents with snow related inquiries or concerns may contact [email protected] or call the snow hotline at 703-228-6485. The Award is available to recent high school graduates and non-traditional students (see the application for more details). Each recipient may be awarded up to $20,000. Applicants are required to submit an online application form as well as a short video application.

The applicant must be an Arlington resident pursuing a career or technical education accredited program, within a high-growth career, that will be completed within two years.

The careers and programs include, but are not limited to:

  • Audio, Video, and Sound Engineering Technicians

  • Broadcast Technicians

  • Commercial Drivers

  • Culinary Arts

  • Early Childcare Education

  • Healthcare

  • Information Technology and Computer Science

  • Manufacturing and Skilled Trades (including welding, auto and aviation mechanics and technicians)

  • Public Safety
