There’s finally an opening date in sight for Buzz Bakery in Ballston.
“Coming soon” signs have been up at the storefront on the 4000 block of Wilson Boulevard for almost a year now. Next-door sister eatery Rustico opened in October while Buzz remained closed. Now, at long last, comes word that Buzz will start serving cupcakes and cappuccinos early next month.
Neighborhood Restaurant Group spokeswoman Jennifer Eberline says the company expects to announce an official May opening date “very, very soon.”
The will be NRG’s second Buzz Bakery. The first, on Slaters Lane in Alexandria, serves breakfast, baked goods, paninis, coffee, tea, wine and beer.

I was wondering when they would open. Seems like they haven’t been doing anything until a few weeks ago and now the inside is looking close to done.
Cupcakes!
Looking forward to it.
Ballston Buzz Bakery Beyach!
We need a Buzz in Pentagon City. We’re tired of tired national chains.
Just a few blocks from my home. At least it is not another Starbucks.
Saw the open door last weekend with the place almost finished.
Wonder if they’ll have a kid’s area like the other one.
I hope not.
Buzz should be an awesome addition to Ballston!!
My wife and I lived in an apartment near this bakery. They should have been finished months ago…that is what they told us. But no they have gone on for the past 5 months of heavy drilling from 7am to 3:30pm monday -friday and every other week saturdays… Their management has offered the apartments where they have tortured for the past 5 months nothing…and no warning from anyone in the our apartment complex nor the restaurarnt. We were not even told when we signed a lease they were doing heavy drilling/sawing right beneath some of the apartments. Liberty Towers and the owners of this bakery should be ashamed of themselves.
Welcome to city living.
Buzz will open on Monday, May 9!!
