Today: Nationwide Emergency Alert Test

The first nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System will be conducted at 2:00 this afternoon.

The test will be broadcast via radio and TV stations and cable TV providers, according to the Federal Emergency Management Agency, which is coordinating the test.

“An audio message will interrupt programming indicating it is a test,” Arlington County advised earlier this week. “When the test is over, regular programming will resume.”
