Santa’s Mailbox Spotted in North Arlington

by Katie Pyzyk — December 16, 2011 at 3:50 pm 1,872 13 Comments

As mentioned in our Morning Poll, your shopping days before Christmas are dwindling.

Maybe you need some help scrambling to pick up those last minute presents. If so, never fear, because Santa has apparently set up a mailbox on a utility pole in North Arlington, near George Mason Drive and 26th St. N.

We’re not sure how often elves are collecting the letters, but we’re told neighborhood children have been frequenting the mailbox.

Pretty sure this was put up by the old guy on family guy.

Or put up by the neighborhood pedophile.

    • Ag Doner

That’s what the old guy on Family Guy is.

You should be ashamed of your self. someone does something nice for his daughter and the neighborhood kids and you paint that horrible picture. Have some decency.

    Festive spirit.

Simultaneously proving why Arlington is great… and the comment forum in ARLNOW is filled with jackasses. Would be nice if the editor took the effort to clean this up, like other new media companies have.

Lighten up folks, the jokes are funny. And yes, the mail box is cool, too. I’ll be taking my kids by there this week to drop their letters. Beware Coach Sanduskies: I carry mace!

    • Don Ager

No, pedophile jokes are not funny.

    • Josh S

Whether or not they are funny, they are certainly in very poor taste, especially considering the context.

how about banning people who make hateful comments?

  • Don Ager

That can be a very slippery slope. and I’m not for that.

What I would like to see is ArlNow move to the system where you have to log in to Facebook to post comments. Much harder to hide anonymously and much less likely to post kinds of comments people would normally never post if others knew who you were.

Just because you can say or do something doesn’t mean that you should. In anonymity people filter themselves less.

I came here expecting some horrible crass comments. Instead, I got a chuckle from the OP.

Thanks to Don Ager who pointed me to this thread via his forum post. Otherwise, I would have totally missed it.
