Dem Caucus Date Revised — Democratic candidates for County Board are scrambling after the newly-chosen special election date forced the Arlington County Democratic Committee to move up its caucuses, which will choose the party’s nominee for Barbara Favola’s former County Board seat. Originally scheduled for Feb. 2 and 4, the caucus is now expected to be held on Jan. 19 and 21. [Sun Gazette]

The leader in innovations in services ARLCo libraries may close their doors at 2 pm Saturday for the Christmas holiday, but the library’s array of internet-mediated services will continue 24/7 for information and entertainment.
Doesn’t the library open at 10 AM on Saturdays. Why even bother? That seems like a waste of money to open and then close within the span of 4 hours.
Seriously. How much of a crowd are you going to get on Christmas Eve?
You’d be surprised. When you have kids, you go to the library a lot. And, if they were closed on Christmas Eve, you would complain about that.
I don’t have kids and frequent the library but I’ve never gone to any library on Christmas Eve.
I have gone to the library on Christmas Eve. If you have books due that day, you are happy they are open that day.
What’s with the “leader in innovations” schtick? No one believes that.
Nice picture of Key Bridge.
It’s a lot better than nice.
Outstanding!
+1 As a photographer that shot is excellent. Very cool.
The shot itself is a photographer? Strange. But I agree that it is excellent.

That is a spectacular picture. Is there any way to contact the photographer to get a copy?
Not yet, but I hear Al Gore has some interwebby thing he’s been working on.
Tre, yours is actually a more appropriate response than the one I gave below. Sincerely.
Inside the computer?
You should use it to google “photo resolution,” Tre.
Folks, please use your resources.
Clicking the photo (and ArlNow nearly always does a very good job of crediting photos) links directly to the christaki’s flickr.com collection. Another click or two on the flickr page, and you’ll find out the user’s web address: christaki.com, which also provides a contact form.
Have you ever thought that Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, etc. people also live in Arlington and might want to use the library on a day that is like any other to them??
