A new Chipotle location is coming to the Pentagon City mall food court, according to a construction barrier that replaced what was formerly a cheesesteak restaurant.
When Chipotle opens for business — no word yet on an expected opening date — it will open directly next to a Taco Bell.
It will also face competition from the currently under-construction Lime Fresh Mexican Grill, which is opening in nearby Pentagon Row, and from the sit-down Chevys Fresh Mex, located across the street at the Pentagon Centre shopping center.

omg omg omg omg
Great, even more disgusting a$$ fat people sitting and slobbering around the food court area.
Hey buddy! Mordor called, it wants its eyeball back.
Slow news day? Perhaps there should be live coverage at local supermarkets as the milk and toilet paper crowd descend.
If it was a story about a fancier place opening up on the Pike we’d see a series of comments about how the brown sandals are heading south (and pushing out the poor).
Why complain about this news item? It’s exactly that, news…that some people may want to hear about.
+1
I think it’s an interesting local item. Is this the most momentous event in the history of Arlington? No. But not every local story is.
I am going to head over to help preserve the Walgreens building in case the snow gets really bad.
Now, if only such a place were to open in the Pentagon itself, we wouldn’t have to walk so far to get a tasty burrito!
I’d rather they just open a second taco bell.
Funny how it’s going to be right beside it.
You are kidding right? I had Taco Bell not long ago for the first time since High School (1995) and things didn’t turn out well over the next 24 hours.
They should include a free roll of toilet tissue with every combo meal at Taco Bell. Run for the border, indeed.
Remember when there was a movie theatre right around the corner, where the Forever 21 is now? Wish they’d put that back. Always found it kinda odd they took it out
(and conveniently the bathrooms are still there around the corner from the Taco Bell, so you don’t have to run TOO far to get to the toilet)
Yeah, when I still lived in Crystal City I constantly lamented the loss of the Loews.
Where was the Loews located?
It was on the food court level where the XXI Forever store is now (big store in the back).
Yeah, at the end of the food court. There were like 4 or 6 theaters there.
yes. but the movies were attracting the wrong element (DC & PG youths). going to a movie there was a chore because of the poorly behaving audience members.
That’s what you get for going to see 8 Mile instead of Office Space.
The movie theaters never drew that many people. Every time I went there, it was almost empty. Some of the employees at the stores next to the theaters said the same thing. One guy said that it was never busy.
They tried to hold special events there to draw more people. There were big crowds for a few of those events but that didn’t help out the everyday numbers.
I just had it again this weekend, god it was so good. Even better on the way out.
I know, the problem with Taco Bell is that it just makes me want more Taco Bell. If I gave in to the cravings I would eventually just be eating Taco Bell nonstop until I died. So I only let myself have it once in a while.
I’m starting to become disappointed with Chipotle, their meats are starting to get a little nasty. Fortunately Perdos and Vinnies is with in striking distance from home. I just wish that would make breakfast burritos……
I find Pedro & Vinnie’s to be hit or miss. While the quality of the food is good — except for the rice, which I now skip — the “construction” of the burritos depends on who is working. Sometimes the tortillas are torn and thus don’t wrap well and a couple of times, they were not really rolled, but more of a fold that just fell apart. Maybe I need to go with the bowl, depending on who is working there.
Most of the time I go on Saturday night and I think then Pedro and Vinnie are at work. The last time I was there in the afternoon on a Saturday two Hispanic ladies were working (who were very nice I might add). They made good burritos but they were different from the Saturday night specials…… I’m not complaining because I am not expecting uniform chain food. But I really wish they had breakfast burritos (I lived in Colorado and Montana where burritos are a way of life….).
This is legitimately the best news I’ve heard in years. And, to defend the selection of this news item, its HUGE news for residents near P City Mall, and for those who frequent the mall as shoppers. The food options there absolutely suck and will get a huge upgrade with the new P City Chipotle. Also – Lime Fresh is screwed.
Wow, that’s different….a Mexican joint in NoVA.
Yes, now that Peruvian chicken mania has cooled.
