Crime Report: Indecent Exposures

There were two incidents of men engaged in lewd activities in public last week, according to the latest Arlington County crime report.

On Thursday, Aug. 2, a man was seen masturbating between two cars in the Clarendon/Courthouse area.

INDECENT EXPOSURE, 08/02/12, 1100 block of N. Barton Street. At 11:08 pm on August 2, an unknown subject was seen masturbating between two parked cars by a female as she walked past him on the sidewalk. Police were unable to locate the subject, described as a Hispanic male, in his mid 20’s, wearing a white shirt.

On Sunday, Aug. 5, another man was seen masturbating in public, this time in an apartment building hallway.

INDECENT EXPOSURE, 08/05/12, 5100 block of S. 10th Street. At 6:14 pm on August 5, a female victim witnessed a unknown male subject masturbating in her apartment building hallway. The male subject fled from the building on foot and was located by police a short time later. Rodimiro Valenzuela Garcia, 38, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with indecent exposure and drunk in public. He was held on a $1,500 secure bond.

Also last week, police say an Arlington man attempted — but failed — to stab another man with a butcher knife. He was arrested outside the Ballston Metro station.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 08/03/12, 4200 block of N. Fairfax Drive. At midnight on August 3, a subject repeatedly attempted to stab a man with a butcher knife as he exited a store. The victim did not sustain any injuries. The subject was located by police on a bench outside the Ballston Metro Station with the knife under his shirt. Mario Lewis, 53, of Arlington, VA, was arrested and charged with attempted malicious wounding. He is being held without bond.

DOUBLE HOMICIDE, 08/07/12, 1900 block of N. Culpeper Street. On August 7 at 10:11 am, a building maintenance worker discovered the dead bodies of two victims in an apartment. There is no suspect(s) description. The police investigation is ongoing.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY (SERIES), 08/01/12, 2300 block of Wilson Boulevard. Between 10:30 pm and 7:45 am, unknown subject(s) broke into several businesses and stole various items. Cash and electronics were included in items reported stolen. There is no suspect(s) description.

BURGLARY, 08/07/12, 800 block of S. Arlington Mill Drive. Between 11:30 pm on August 6 and 7 am on August 7, an unknown subject(s) gained entry to a apartment building storage room by breaking a window and stole three mountain bikes. There is no suspect(s) description.

BURGLARY, 08/07/12, 2500 block of N. Lee Highway. Between 8:30 pm on august 6 and 9:20 am on August 7, an unknown subject(s) entered a business through a rear window and stole a laptop and safe containing checks and vehicle titles. There is no suspect(s) description.

BURGLARY, 08/06/12, 5200 block of Little Falls Road. Between 1:30 and 4:50 pm on August 6, an unknown subject(s) broke open a front door of a residence and burglarized the home. Items reported missing were cash, jewelry and gold coins. There is no suspect(s) description.

BURGLARY, 08/06/12, 1300 block of N. Irving Street. Between 10:35 am and 12:15 pm on August 6, an unknown subject(s) entered a residence through an unlocked rear door and stole various items. Reported missing were four laptops, a checkbook, iPod and a social security card. There is no suspect(s) description.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY (SERIES), 08/04/12, 1900 block of N. Lynn Street. Between 10 pm on August 3 and 1:30 am on August 4, seven vehicles were broken into while parked in a garage. Various items were reported stolen. There is no suspect(s) description.
