Lots of thunder, with some intense bursts. Rain but no deluge.

      And now ??

Clear now after raining until after about 4 AM or so.

Fall garden seeds and young plants should do well.

Note: Record acorn crop is now almost completely on the ground, but no squirrels have appeared enjoy the bountiful crop and to bury the surplus.
The rabbits, foxes and deers that were also around at different times earlier in the year are also unseen now. Crows and some other birds are announcing their presence with periodic bursts of vocalizations. What’s going on?

12-23-12 ring a bell? Better get your shelter ready and buy a car with a manual transmission……don’t want to run into any buildings on your way out

not true – I still see plenty of bunnies and foxes. They are great to chase!

    • NoVapologist

Plenty of squirrels and foxes still running around my neighborhood. I think there was simply an overabundance of acorns this year. The squirrels already stocked away all they needed.

    • Greg

The squirrel and chipmunks who live in my backyard are still around… Along with the most annoying bird ever.

    • Meg

What is it with the acorns? Last year there were NONE. This year they are everywhere. Hopefully this means that the squirrels won’t be cannibalizing all the jack-o-lanterns this year like they did last year.

        Drought encourages them.

  • that’s what she said

    Donaldson Run got hammered.

Is the floating dock still attached to its moorings? I understand that it was touch-n-go with the sea state so high.

    • Mike

Well as long as Donaldson Run didn’t try to drive after getting hammered, I think it’s entitled to have its fun.
