Yes, i absolutely am. They are all government services. What i am pointing out is that some individuals believe that the services that they personally dont like should break even on their own and therefore not cost the taxpayer anything. It is picking and choosing based on what they like. For example, i have seen someone bash the artisphere and then say the money should go to parks. Well, arts and parks are sort of the same idea.

If people dont want to fund the arts then that is fine. But to argue on the basis of a government service needing to be independently profitable makes little sense. The parks are "losing" us money as well. Would you like them to set up toll collectors at the playgrounds?

Since you believe that public agencies have to be profitable, where is your outrage over ACPD? ACFD? How much are they costing us a head? Why arent they bringing in more revenue? How dare the government spend tax revenue in such an unprofitable venture! Throw the bums out!!!

A-MEN!!! Extra Virgin has been notorious for failure to pay meals taxes. The consumer reporters on NBC-4 and Fox-5 should really do a story on how establishments like Extra Virgin wind up collecting from patrons a "tax" that they don't actually pay.

Boycott? Community groups should picket them.

Yep. In Arlington at Least. Going out on NYE to places/areas that aren't these all night admission fee based scenarios is infinitely better.

I don't know about downtown DC, but Downtown baltimore, Fells, Canton, or the IH is fun as anything. Bar hop to see different friends at different places, different drink specials.

Whoever came up with the admission for all night idea should be shot.
