Disappointing as hell, to be sure. Aside from disavowing the use of torture (itself a big deal, no doubt), Obama has not really altered course in the prosecution of the “war” against terrorism. Aren’t there still plenty of people rotting away in “detention facilities” that have not yet been charged with any crime? So it’s not really much of an either / or, just a “meet the new boss, same as the old boss” on this particular issue.
