Clearly–we need to do something. Perhaps–a household that has a mentally ill person should also not be allowed guns–particularly assault rifles. Why not re-vamp everything with regard to gun laws? Status quo clearly isn’t working. Arming 5 year olds and teachers is not a good idea (even people that support gun rights/hunters can agree with that).

Crazy people seem to be multiplying as does the Nation’s gun supply.

It was the incompetent background check on the mental patient that was the major failure in that situation.

I wrote the bit about an ‘anti-gun/assault rifle rally’..because as you know the carnage wouldn’t have been as great (or happened) at VT or Sandy Hook if these type of weapons were taken out of the equation.

As you know, there is a strong ‘good-ol boy’ attitude in VA–particularly the farther south in VA you go. While I am not against gun–come from a family that hunts, etc. I am completely against any private citizen having an assault weapon.

To be clear, Newtown is still in need of monetary donations. This was reported just days ago by NBC Connecticut: “We continue to be so gratified by the outpouring of support that the Sandy Hook School Support Fund has received,” Kim Morgan, CEO of UWWC, said in a statement, according to a report on NBC Connecticut. “The needs facing Newtown will be many, diverse and ongoing.
