Crime Report: Indecent Exposure in Columbia Forest

(Updated at 11:10 a.m.) A 21-year-old Arlington man was arrested and charged with indecent exposure after an incident on Monday afternoon.

Police say the man exposed himself to a woman as she walked from an apartment building in the Columbia Forest. She eventually entered 7-Eleven store, at which the man finally stopped exposing himself.

From this week’s Arlington County crime report:

INDECENT EXPOSURE, 02/18/13, 1000 block of S. Frederick Street. At 1 pm on February 18, a subject exposed himself to a female victim on the side of an apartment building. The subject followed the victim and continued to expose himself until she entered a 7-11 store. Police located the subject a short time later and placed him in custody. Kendrick Webb Raphale, 21, of Arlington, VA, was charged with indecent exposure. He was held on a $3,000 secured bond.

ROBBERY, 02/16/13, 3600 block of S. Kemper Road. At 1:25 am on February 16, a subject assaulted his girlfriend in her vehicle after she ended their 6 month relationship. The subject stole the victim’s purse and vehicle and had fled the scene prior to police arrival.

ROBBERY, 02/14/13, 1200 block of S. Hayes Street. At 7 pm on February 14, a subject attempted to steal rings from a mall kiosk. When the owner of the kiosk confronted the subject, the subject struck the victim several times in the face. The subject and victim remained on scene until the police arrived. The victim sustained minor injuries, and one of the rings was recovered. A juvenile from Washington, D.C. was arrested on charges of robbery.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING BY MOB, 02/17/13, 500 block of S. 15th Street. On February 17 at 4:06 pm, a physical altercation ensued over a road rage incident. A victim was punched in the face and then five subjects assaulted him after he smashed their rear windshield out with a wooden post. The victim sustained numerous injuries and was transported to the hospital. The victim’s front windshield was also smashed in with the wooden post. Lavell Jeffries, 18, Bernard Payton, 18, Larry Johnson, 18, and Jeremiah Grier, 19, all of Washington, DC, were arrested and charged with malicious wounding by mob. They were held on a $2,000 secure bond. A 16 year old juvenile was also charged with malicious wounding by mob and destruction of property. He was released to his mother. Maurice Cox, 34, of Arlington, VA, was arrested and charged with DUI and destruction of property after receiving medical attention.

BURGLARY, 02/13/13, 1900 block of N. Westmoreland Street. Between 7 am and 7 pm on February 13, an unknown subject(s) forced entry into a residence and stole a laptop. There is no suspect(s) description.

BURGLARY, 02/14/13, 800 block of S. Greenbrier Street. At 11:24 pm on February 13, three subjects followed a woman into an apartment complex. A different resident observed these suspicious subjects and reported it to the police. Police responded to the scene and found the three subjects attempting to break into a storage locker in the parking garage. Two of the subjects were immediately apprehended, but one subject attempted to flee the scene by foot and was apprehended by the police shortly after. A getaway car with a fourth suspect was also found outside of the building. Charles Albert Messiah, 19, of Annandale, VA was arrested and charged with burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, possession of burglarious tools, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and resisting arrest. Kareem Jamar Taylor, 19, of Alexandria, VA was arrested and charged with burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Both are currently being held without bond. Ciarra Chante Rice, 19, of Lorton, VA was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit burglary, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. She is currently being held on a $5,000 secured bond for the first charge and a $3,000 secured bond for the second charge. A juvenile was also arrested and charged with burglary and conspiracy to commit burglary.
