Crime Report: Man Flees After Grabbing Woman’s Buttocks

Police are looking for a man accused of reaching up the skirt and grabbing the buttocks of a woman walking on S. Hayes Street in the Aurora Highlands neighborhood, near Crystal City, on Monday evening.

From this week’s Arlington County crime report:

SEXUAL BATTERY, 07/22/13, 2000 block of S. Hayes Street. At 6:25 pm on July 22, a female victim was walking on the sidewalk when a suspect approached her from behind and reached up her skirt, grabbing her buttocks. The suspect fled the scene on foot. He is described as a white Hispanic male in his 20’s, approximately 5’8″ tall and 170 lbs. He was wearing a red bandana, baby blue shirt and khaki shorts at the time of the incident.

Police say a bystander witnessed the incident and attempted to chase the suspect for several blocks, but the suspect got away. The witness stayed at the scene to speak with police. Neither the witness nor the victim sustained any physical injuries.

BANK ROBBERY, 07/17/13, 3100 block of N. Wilson Boulevard. At 3:42 pm on July 17, a subject entered the TD Bank and handed a note to a teller implying he had a weapon and demanded money. The suspect fled the scene on a bus with approximately $3,000. The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6’0″ tall with a thin build. He was wearing a white crew neck long sleeve t-shirt, dark jeans, dark sneakers and a Jamaican beanie hat.

ROBBERY, 07/18/13, 5200 block of N. Yorktown Boulevard. At 3:45 pm on July 18, a victim was robbed of cash by a subject known to him. Police located the subject at his residence. William Wykoff, 20, of Arlington, VA, was arrested and charged with robbery. He was held on no bond.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 07/22/13, 3500 block of S. 19th Street. At 11:50 am on July 22, a known suspect struck a female victim in the face multiple times after an argument. A warrant for malicious wounding was obtained for Paul Johnson, 31, of Arlington, VA.

ATTEMPTED RAPE, 07/19/13, 900 block of S. Monroe Street. At 10:01 am on July 19, a subject entered the office of a female employee, assaulted her and attempted to rape her. She was able to fight the subject off and escape the office. The subject was located by police a short time later at his residence. Michael McKeever, 31, of Arlington, VA, was arrested and charged with attempted rape and abduction with intent to defile. He is being held without bond.

AGGRAVATED SEXUAL BATTERY, 07/21/13, unknown Clarendon location. It was discovered that on December 26, 2010 between 2 and 2:33 am, a suspect sexually assaulted and photographed a female victim while she was unconscious. Joseph Rivera, 34, formerly of Alexandria, VA, was arrested in Las Vegas, NV and is awaiting extradition to Virginia to face charges. Fairfax County Police Department is the primary agency.

BURGLARY, 07/21/13, unit block of S. Edison Street. Between 6:30 pm on July 12 and 5:30 pm on July 21, an unknown subject(s) entered a residence and stole a 60 inch Samsung TV and Nikon camera.

BURGLARY, 07/17/13, 2800 block of N. Wilson Boulevard. Between 9 pm on July 16 and 7:30 am on July 17, an unknown subject(s) entered a classroom and stole 9 iPads and chargers. There is no suspect(s) description.

BURGLARY, 07/23/13, 1300 block of N. Veitch Street. Between 2 pm on July 21 and 2 pm on July 23, an unknown subject(s) entered a garage and stole a Cannondale Quick 4 bicycle. There is no suspect(s) description.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY (SERIES), 07/22/13, Countywide. On the morning of July 22 it was discovered that during the overnight hours, an unknown subject(s) slashed the tires of at least 15 Toyota Prius vehicles. There is no suspect(s) description.
