Arlington Pet of the Week: James

Becky's Pet Care

This week’s submission for Pet of the Week is a black-and-white house cat who has graciously decided to pass the torch of “Sexiest Cat(s) Alive” to Gus and Tux.

Here’s what owner Farah had to say about her 12-year-old feline:

James, a.k.a. Mr. James, a.k.a. The Man, is an avid follower of Arlington Now – especially the comments!

Adopted from a friend when he could be held in just one hand, he immediately became not just his Mom’s son, but her moon and stars as well.

Quietly gregarious in his salad days, James now runs to hide when there are guests, although one of his hiding places has been in plain sight on top of the refrigerator.  He seems to think that if he doesn’t look at the guest while he’s up there, they can’t see him!

James is very vocal when relaxing at home with his “peeps”.  His favorite form of exercise is playing fetch with grocery twist-ties.  His adoptive grandmother jokes that he tried to impersonate Charlie Chaplin but his mustache slipped.  Now that he is approaching his twelfth year, he has realized that it is time to pass the title of Sexiest Cat(s) Alive to a new generation, brothers Gus and Tux (Pets of the Week for January 15)!

Each week’s winner receives a sample of dog or cat treats from our sponsor, Becky’s Pet Care, along with $25 in Becky’s Bucks. Becky’s Pet Care provides professional dog walking and pet sitting services in Arlington and Northern Virginia — “Quality Service from a Trusted Friend.”
