Arlington Pet of the Week: Brea and Grayson

This week’s Pet of the Week is a pair of cats, Brea and Grayson, who have earned the “Brangelina”-esque nickname, Brayson.

Here’s what owner Nicole had to say about her feline dynamic duo:

Adopted kitties Brea and Grayson may not be litter-mates, but they get into trouble a lot like siblings!

Best known by their celebrity couple name Brayson, these 5-year-old Arlington residents originally hail from the Northern Virginia Animal League in Manassas and are notorious for playing tag around the apartment and finding good hiding spots. Brea prefers her cool window ledge or a cozy cardboard box, while Grayson likes to “hide” under pillows and in a basket of swimsuits in the closet (which he opens up himself).

Also known as Toothless and Tailless, this gray tabby and Tortoiseshell manx duo like to cuddle up on their mom, Nicole, the second she gets home and are very vocal about it until she sits down with a ready lap. Opening up a can of tuna will wake them from their deepest sleep and they can’t resist a nibble of White Cheddar Cheese-Its.

Though Grayson has a lot of spunk and character, he does lack all of his teeth. Diagnosed with stomatitis (advanced gum disease) when he was just a little kitten, his mom opted for a complete extraction of his teeth instead of battling with inflammation and mouth pain for the rest of his kitty life. Gray, aka Tails, still enjoys his hard food (though some of it falls out into the water bowl) and his cat treats, so his absence of teeth doesn’t seem to phase him. He also enjoys a good game of fetch with bottle caps.

Brea is the more subdued of the two, but can be known to suddenly jump and run around like banshee for no apparent reason (most likely chasing “Lucy the Ghost”). When she is not chasing ghosts, she’s napping or loudly purring and bumping her tailless bottom against you until you pick her up for a good head scratch. B-girl is very persistent when she wants attention and will not stop until she gets it!

Brayson is pleased with all the buzz they’ve garnered from this press piece but have no other comments at this time.

Unlike our competitors, Well-Paid Maids doesn’t clean your home with harsh chemicals. Instead, we handpick cleaning products rated “safest” by the Environmental Working Group, the leading rating organization regarding product safety.

The reason is threefold.

First, using safe cleaning products ensures toxic chemicals won’t leak into waterways or harm wildlife if disposed of improperly.

Second, it’s better for you and your family. Fragrant chemicals in surface cleaners can expose you to a similar amount of pollutant particles as a busy city road, New Scientist reported.
