Crime Report: Man Beaten, Robbed After Meeting Woman Online

A man was beaten and robbed after inviting a woman he had met online to his apartment.

According to this week’s Arlington County crime report, the tattooed woman and an accomplice assaulted the 31-year-old victim at his apartment in the Douglas Park neighborhood near Randolph Elementary School.

ROBBERY, 140315006, 4300 block of S. 12th Street. On March 14 at 11:30 pm, a 31 year-old male victim invited a female subject to his apartment that he had met online. She arrived to the residence and made a phone call to another male subject, who arrived and physically assaulted the victim. The victim had his wallet and cell phone stolen. Suspect one is described as a white female, approximately 5’4″, 120 pounds with blonde hair and tattoos all over her arms. She was wearing a pink shirt and black tights at the time of the incident. Suspect two is described as a black male, approximately 6’2″, 200 pounds with short hair and was wearing a black shirt at the time of the incident.

ROBBERY, 140315077, 4200 block of N. Wilson Boulevard. On March 15 at 2:49pm, a victim reported that his iPad was allegedly stolen by an unknown subject in the Ballston Mall. The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 25-30 years of age, and was wearing a gray fitted hat, a blue North Face jacket, and tan cargo pants.

ATTEMPTED ARMED ROBBERY, 140315055, 2600 block of S. Columbia Pike. On March 15 at 9:07am, a suspect entered CVS and climbed over the pharmacy counter, threatened employees with a knife and attempted to steal prescription drugs. After several attempts the suspect fled the store and was apprehended in a rear alley. Daniel McQuay, 33, of Arlington, VA was arrested and charged with attempted armed robbery and was held without bond.

BURGLARY, 140314020, 2300 block of N. Clarendon Boulevard. Between 5:55 pm on March 13 and 8:15 am on March 14, an unknown subject(s) entered an office and stole a Dell laptop. There is no suspect(s) description.

BURGLARY, 140313020, 2300 block of S. Wilson Boulevard. At 9:52 am on March 13, a suspect entered a secure office space and was witnessed going through an employee’s belongings. Once confronted, the suspect fled the scene on foot and was located by police in an adjacent office building. Ana Anderson, 42, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with burglary with intent to commit larceny. She was held without bond.

BURGLARY, 140313074, 2300 block of S. Eads Street. At 11:55 pm on March 13, surveillance video captures a suspect gaining access to a restaurant and stealing cash. The suspect is described as an adult black male, approximately 6’0″ tall and 230 lbs. He was wearing a blue “Washington” hoodie, jeans and a blue baseball hat at the time of the incident.

BURGLARY, 140312049, 1900 block of S. Columbia Pike. Between 7:15 am and 4:30 pm on March 12, an unknown subject(s) entered a residence through a window and stole various items to include jewelry and electronics. There is no suspect(s) description.

INDECENT EXPOSURE, 140315112, 2000 block of N. 15th Street. On March 15 at 10:59pm, an intoxicated 26 year-old woman arrived at the Magistrate’s Office naked to visit her husband who was arrested in Clarendon earlier in the day. The woman refused to get dressed or to leave in a cab. Maura Fussell, 26, of Reston, VA was arrested and charged with indecent exposure and drunk in public. She was held until sober.

PEEPING TOM, 140316013, 600 block of N. Nelson Street. On March 16 at 2:18am, a victim reported that an unknown male subject was looking through her living room window. The victim screamed and the suspect fled on foot. The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5’10” with a wide build. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans at the time of the incident.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 140314059, 200 block of S. Carlin Springs Road. On March 14 at 9:11pm, police responded to reports of subjects that had unlawfully entered Kenmore Middle School. The suspects fled on foot, but were located a short time later by police. Anthony Jorge Ortiz, 18, of Arlington, VA, Samuel Zacharias, 18, of Arlington, VA, along with five juveniles were charged with unlawful entry and possession of stolen property.

BREAKING & ENTERING, 140317004, 4100 block of N. 3rd Road. On March 17 at 7:42am, a maintenance supervisor reported that a storage room door was discovered open and there was damage done to the door. It was unknown if anything was taken from the storage area and there is no suspect(s) description.

TAMPERING (series), 140315005, 5700 block of S. 4th Street. On March 15 at 10:00pm, it was discovered that several vehicles were tampered with and that items were taken. The investigation is ongoing.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY (series), 140315059, 1600 block of N. Oak Street. Between 7 pm on March 14 and 9:30 am on March 15, an unknown subject(s) smashed windows on numerous vehicles. No items were reported stolen and the investigation is ongoing.

MISSILE INTO OCCUPIED DWELLING, 140318042, 1000 block of S. Quebec Street. On March 18 at 7:05pm, a victim reported that a bedroom window in her residence had been broken by an unknown object. There are no suspects at this time.

The STEAM Workforce Development Teacher Fellowship provides Arlington Public Schools (APS) high school, middle school, and elementary school teachers with opportunities to learn about workplace needs in STEAM-related fields and for them to use the experience to enhance student learning to match workplace expectations in a selected industry. STEAM Fellows participate in a three-week summer fellowship, receiving a $4,000 stipend upon completion.
