Crime Report: Robbery Foiled by Armed Victim

Arlington County police carA man was reportedly able to scare away four people trying to rob him in his apartment when he drew a handgun.

Police say the 27-year-old victim was taking out the trash last Friday night in the Arna Valley View neighborhood near S. Glebe Road. When he returned to his apartment, four alleged, would-be robbers forced their way in.

As two of the suspects rifled through his things, the victim said there was a brief struggle and he was able to draw a pistol. The suspects then reportedly dropped everything and ran off.

ROBBERY BY FORCE, 140602055, 2700 block of S. Adams Street. On May 30 at 11:30 pm, a 27 year old victim was allegedly forced into his apartment by four subjects and robbed of his wallet and cellphone. The victim brandished a firearm and the suspects dropped his belongings and fled on foot. Suspect one is described as a black male in his twenties, approximately 6’1″ and 210 lbs. He was wearing a light blue t-shirt, light blue jeans, and white Nike sneakers. Suspect two is described as a black male in his twenties, approximately 5’9″ and 155 lbs. He was wearing an oversized green polo t-shirt, brown khakis, and brown boat shoes. Suspect three is described as a Hispanic female in her mid twenties approximately, 5’3″ and 130 lbs with green eyes and black hair. She was wearing a black blouse and checkered pants. Suspect four is described as a black female in her mid twenties approximately, 5’2″ and 120 lbs with a long red wig. She was wearing a purple dress with brown boots.

ATTEMPTED MALICIOUS WOUNDING OF POLICE, 140531009, 1200 block of N. Highland Street. At 1:17 am on May 31, police were dispatched for a fight in progress and when on scene an intoxicated subject began throwing rocks at the officers. Kristen Harkins, 29, of Arlington, VA was arrested and charged with assault on police, two counts attempted malicious wounding, thrown missile into occupied vehicle, destruction of property and drunk in public.

SEXUAL BATTERY, 140531025, 1500 block of N.Veitch Street. At 3:30 am on May 31, several witnesses intervened as a subject was attempting to sexually assault a 31 year-old female victim in the bushes. Police were able to apprehend the suspect as a he attempted to flee and later learned that the suspect had followed the victim from the Metro stop. Ryan Dean, 27, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with sexual battery.

SEXUAL BATTERY, 140601005, 800 block of S. 15th Street. On June 1 at 11:44 pm, an unknown subject approached a 34 year-old female victim from behind as she was walking home alone and grabbed her buttocks. The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5’5″ tall, and was wearing a baseball cap and cutoff shorts.

BURGLARY, 140528029, 1700 block of N. Lynn Street. Between 12:12 am and 12:26 am on May 28, an unknown subject entered a store and stole cash. The suspect is described as a black male wearing a light colored hoodie, black hat, dark pants and white sneakers.

BURGLARY, 140528079, 1400 block of N. Patrick Henry Drive. Between 4:40 and 11:15 pm on May 24, an unknown subject(s) entered a residence and displaced numerous items. It was unknown if anything of value was taken at the time of the report. There is no suspect(s) description.

BURGLARY, 140529017, 1000 block of N. Glebe Road. Between 5:10 pm on May 28 and 7:45 am on May 29, an unknown subject(s) entered an office suite and stole a laptop. There is no suspect(s) description.

GRAND LARCENY OF AUTO, 140528069, 2600 block of S. Glebe Road. At 4:24 pm on May 28, during a traffic stop it was discovered the vehicle had been stolen and the subject was also in possession of stolen items. Delonte Small, 25, of Washington, DC was arrested and charged with grand larceny of auto, two counts of receiving stolen property, possession of burglarious tools, two counts of forgery, two counts of uttering, identity theft and operating a vehicle without a license. He was held without bond.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (series), 140603015, 1500 block of N. Taylor Street. Between 2 and 7:45 am on June 3, an unknown subject(s) broke into seven vehicles in a three block radius and stole the airbags. There is no suspect(s) description.
