Arlington Pet of the Week: Pip

This week’s Arlington Pet of the Week is Pip, a Frisbee-obsessed rescue dog that can make you “feel like a complete jerk” if you don’t play with him.

Here’s what Pip’s owner, Camille, had to say about him:

Pip was adopted from the Washington D.C. Humane Society in the fall of 2012. He was found as a puppy running around a parking lot in Anacostia. We are not totally sure what breed he is but we think he is a Husky/Collie mix. Once he made himself at home in Arlington, he discovered his real passion: Frisbee.

Pip can be found with four to five Frisbees in his mouth at all times and will often drop them on your face in the morning ready to play. His favorite move is to creep up behind you while you are watching TV or cooking dinner, drop the Frisbees on the floor next to you then dash out the doggy door forcing you to either throw him the Frisbees or feel like a complete jerk.

Pip loves to hike and swim at Roosevelt Island. Unlike most dogs, he enjoys riding in the car and will often try to sneak out the door after you just to ride along. When Pip was a puppy, he somehow managed to chew up a large L.L. Bean braided rug while still in his crate. Pip is extremely loving and happy but will never be able to understand the deep hatred our cats feel toward him.
