Fellow Toastmasters and Guests,
Welcome to this year’s District 27 Spring Conference a.k.a. Taking Care of Business!!!
The District 27 Spring Fall Conference is an exciting educational and networking event for Toastmasters and those interested in Toastmasters. Our purpose here today is to:
- Conduct District business
- Provide communication and leadership training in support of the District mission
- Opportunities for networking and the exchange of ideas
- Recognition and celebration of District and member accomplishments
We believe the elements of a successful District Conference provide for an exciting and varied education program in an excellent location, and priced to provide the best value for attendees. It’ the pinnacle event for all Toastmasters to attend, re-energize, and get inspired. At the end of the day, we hope this Conference will amaze you with featured keynote speaker, Second Vice-President, Toastmaster International, Mike Storkey. Attendees will also experience the excitement of the International Speech Contest and Evaluation Contest finals, educational workshops, networking events, and Hall of Fame recognitions for outstanding Toastmasters. The extravaganza includes General Council Meeting, which we will vote on District Realignment and elect our Leadership Team for the 2014/2015 Toastmasters Year. Naturally, there will be our luncheon special workshops, and the always highly anticipated Distinguished Toastmaster walk spotlighting members who earned the highest achievement in the Toastmasters organization.
As the 1974 song by Bachman-Turner Overdrive suggests, District 27 Toastmasters are:
Taking care of business (every day)
Taking care of business (every way)
Taking care of business (it’s all mine)
Taking care of business and working overtime
District 27 is great because of our members. So thanks for joining us at the social event of the season. A good time is sure to be had by all.
Yours in Toastmastering…
Ralph T. Jones, DTM
District 27 Governor
