Free – but RSVP required-

Please join us for breakfast on Wednesday, April 8th and find out how Offender Aid and Restoration (OAR) works with inmates and former offenders to help them stay out of jail or prison and become productive members of society. For 41 years, OAR has been working to make our community safer and a more welcoming, wonderful place to live.

This is OAR’s seventh year of hosting the Second Chance Fundraising Breakfast where you will hear from OAR clients, volunteers, and community leaders. THE BREAKFAST IS FREE! At the end of the program we will invite those who can to make a contribution or pledge but there is no minimum donation required. We do, however, ask that you register so we know you are coming. http://oaronline.org/breakfast2015/

This year we will be honoring Arlington County Manager Barbara Donnellan and Alexandria Mayor Euille for their work in taking off the “box” on their job applications that asks: “Have you ever been convicted of a crime.” That means that those with a criminal record will at least be given the opportunity for an interview, if their credentials meet the requirements. At that point, they can explain their criminal background so the supervisor can determine if it has any relevance to the job they are filling.

The Breakfast will be held at the Sheraton Pentagon City (Sheraton National), near the Air Force Memorial. Doors open at 7:15 am with coffee, and the program will start promptly at 7:45 am and conclude by 9 am sharp. Come join OAR and other friends and colleagues on April 8th. Parking is free.
