The newest Adoptable Pet of the Week is Kumo!
This adorable and fluffy senior pup is up for adoption at the Animal Welfare League of Arlington. He is currently in foster and his adoption fees have been paid!
Kumo and his friends had this to say:
Hello, I’m Kumo! I’m looking for a home where I can bask in the simple joys of life, surrounded by love and warmth.
I promise to be a loyal friend and fill your days with the quiet joy that comes from sharing your life with a wise and grateful soul.
I may have a few white hairs, but my heart is still full of love and companionship. Due to my age, I am seeking a special type of adoption known as a hospice adoption. While it might sound serious, it simply means I’m looking for a compassionate soul who can provide me with a comfortable and caring environment for the time I have left.
Kumo’s foster told us that he is an elderly gentleman and he likes to go on a leisurely 1 to 1½ mile walk once a day and a very short potty walk at other times. He likes being out off-leash in my yard and just rolling in the grass and sniffing around. When he wants to he can run quite fast.
He gets along well with my dog who is a little smaller. He gets along well with my cats. He is okay with well mannered children. Kumo does sleep a lot. He either sleeps in his crate or on the floor. He is house trained but has to go out at least four times a day for potty breaks. He does not do staircases, can’t really go easily up or down stairs.
Is Kumo the match you’re been looking for? You can read his entire profile to learn how to start the adoption process!

Say hello to one of the fluffiest cats, Chico!
This white cloud of fluff is currently in foster and up for adoption at the Animal Welfare League of Arlington.
Chico’s friends had this to say about him:
Meet the fluffy cloud named Chico!
He may be a bit shy at first, but give him time to show you just how special he is. Once he opens up, Chico wants to be the center of your world.
From getting pet and brushed, to the loving gazes into your eyes, this guy just wants to be pampered, and in return he’ll give his unconditional love. And true to pure-white fluffy cat behavior, he can be picky about his food. He’ll let you know if the stuff in his bowl isn’t up to his standards by giving you a stern look and loud meow.
- Chico’s favorite things are napping, being pet, and playing with his mouse.
- His special talent is floating silently through the house, just like a cloud.
- His perfect day would involve ordering chicken tacos with his human on a clear blue-sky day so that he’s the only white cloud in your presence.
Important facts about Chico: He has not met children or dogs whilst in our care. Our team is happy to discuss these topics during your virtual appointment.

This handsome guy is currently in foster with the Animal Welfare League of Arlington. He gets along great with other dogs and cats.
His friends had this to say about him:
Meatloaf is the most handsome 2 year old big loaf of love!
When he is not sleeping on a comfy couch or refreshing cool floor, near his favorite human, he would love a family that can take him on long sniffy walks in the park, play with new friends (human and dogs) and show off his catch skills!
While he is still young, he is very smart and continually working hard on commands, thankfully he is food motivated and eager to please.
Meatloaf doesn’t let his size stop him from his dream of being a big baby in your lap! Who wouldn’t want an 80 pound weighted blanket for the coming fall/winter days!
Meatloaf is house and crate trained! Want to read more about Meatloaf? Check out his entire profile to learn more.

Say hello to Chico, the newest Adoptable Pet of the Week!
This little guy is currently in foster through the Animal Welfare League of Arlington.
Here is what his friends had to say about him:
Chico is a very special boy with special needs. He has a wobble in his walk and would do best without too many stairs, but he will climb his way onto a couch if given the chance.
He was previously only fed people food, but we are working on getting him to enjoy a more balanced doggie diet. He gets along well with dogs, kids and even a parrot and will pick his favorite and find it difficult to let them go.
He voices his opinions in typical chihuahua fashion but doesn’t seem to get offended when you disagree.
Chico loves to harness up and go for walks and really gets the zoomies in the yard. He also will try to zoom out the door if his chosen person tries to leave.
Chico would probably do best in a stand alone house as he has a proclivity for long winded chihuahua speeches, particularly when out of bed in a room not with his people.
