Affordable landscapers for a small yard

James: Thanks for your reply. Very strange stuff indeed.  When the owner came by he made it sound as if he didn’t have enough clients in the Northern VA area to make it worth bringing people down from Maryland to mow my yard, but I could be mistaken.

Sunshine: I did end up going with them yesterday per your recommendation.  Thanks again for that.  They were very responsive, came by today for the first mow and are only charging $25/every two weeks for mowing and edging.  A great deal and they did a great job.

This is good info to have in case I get cancelled as well. Thanks!

Glad everything worked out for you. You will find them to be reliable and consistent. Some of my neighbors are using a company called Green Horizons. They seem to be happy with them.

Just to close the loop on this, on Tuesday Masters of the Lawn indeed showed up at my house for the first cut and trim of the season. So unless they are making a special trip down here just for me, then they do have enouigh NoVA customers to keep a route going. I have no idea why they would turn down your business Alex but I guess that’s their loss!

Looks like you have found a landscaper, so I am a day late and a dollar short, but wanted to offer my services if you or anyone else need them in the future.  I live very near the EFC metro, but have an Arlington address.  I work FT doing consulting work in Arlington, but do some landscaping/yardwork on the side (evening and weekends).  I would happily come by and give quote you a price for yardwork (since I do this on the side, I come in much lower than the large companies – my guess, I would charge the $20-25 for what you are describing your yard is like).  In addition to mowing and trimming, I am available for other landscaping projects (mulching, leaf raking and removal, etc.).  Finally, I do small to mid-size tree work for individuals, as needs arise.  My bachelors degree is in Forestry and am available for small to mid-size projects like pruning, overhanding branch removal, small to mid-size tree removal, and stump removal.

Again, I do not mean to “spam” this post, but wanted to offer myself as a solution to your search for affordable and reliable lawn care.

I can be reached first by email (jlnelson711 @ gmail (dot) com), at which point I will provide a cell phone number.
