Home > General Discussion > Any regulations regarding parking commercial vehicles (actually FLEET) on public streets?
-
The neighborhoods blossoming around Filmore St, Columbia Pike, 2nd St South, etc…are increasingly littered with what appears to be a fleet of limousines owned by the same person/company. I've witnessed the owner shuffle his fleet between numerous public streets throughout the neighborhoods. He typically has at least two limo SUV's taking up parking along Fillmore between Columbia Pike & 2nd Street. I also suspect that the private buses and panel trucks are also owned by him. He's obtained a new vehicle to his fleet as of the past few days….a bright white school bus… This is really getting out of hand. Any advice on a course of action would be greatly appreciated.
I've seen those limos on Fillmore before.
Though it's nothing compared to 4 mile!
I have been wondering this as well. This guy lives in my neighborhood too and we always see his obnoxious limos (bright pink, etc.) and old busses (that appear to be used as storage) all over while walking the dog. I can’t imagine how much his next-door neighbors must hate him.
Yeah, 4Mile is insane…I'm hoping to prevent the same thing from happening.
I've tabulated that he has at LEAST 6 vehicles in his fleet:
1 Pink Ford Expedition Limo
1 White Hummer limo
1 White Lincoln Town Car limo
1 White Commuter style bus
1 White School Bus
1 White regular Hummer
I suspect there are more, because I also see a white Lincoln limo parked on S Southgate Rd. near the rear entrance to Ft. Myer when i'm riding my bike home.
See my post entitled “Express Limo” on this forum.
I live within walking distance, and my conversation with this guy was so frustrating that I am tempted to, sometime when I see his limos gone, go and park there just to take up his space. It'd be worth it to see the look on his face when he returns and can't reclaim what he clearly thinks is rightfully his.
I know that would just make him park somewhere else, but this seems to be designated by the County as a place where commercial vehicles can park. If he has to go park in a residential neighborhood, then we call parking enforcement and they will come out and ticket him.
If anyone would be interested in joining me in this “park-in,” let me know. I know it's petty, but I just feel like doing it!
