Who in Arlington has the best beer selection as far as buying micro-brewed and imported bottles/cans? I especially love the Belgian abbey-style ales, and traditional German beers.
K-1 Beer and Wine on Columbia Pike has a decent selection. Westover Market is good. Total Wine is awesome, but is located in Alexandria.
Arrowine without a doubt, plus, Whole Foods, Grateful Red has a nice selection also.
German Gourmet on Columbia Pike has a nice selection of German beer and wine. They have some Belgian beer as well. The store is small but it manages to pack in all the things you know and love from Germany quite nicely.
Lost Dog (Westover), World of Beer (Ballston), Rustico (Ballston), while restaurants, also sell their beer to go.
Another for Westover Market and their “Wall of Beer”.
Westover Market has a great selection, to be sure, but if you want something international or unusual for whatever reason you should check out World of Beer – they have an amazing number of foreign beers, and they have a bunch of Belgians.
I go to the Westover Market, Whole Foods, and Total Wine (in that order). Total Wine probably has the most complete collection, but it’s locations are pretty far. Whole Foods has many of the same beers at Westover, they’re just slightly more expensive.
I have been to World of Beer twice, but it’s just too damn expensive for me. At $9/beer, I’d rather drink imports/mircos at home and get a cheap beer while I’m out. I’m not sure if they sell carry out.
Doesn’t that place on Washington Blvd have a really big selection? can’t remember the name of it, bu tpeople mention it all the time on here.
Euro Mart on the corner of Wilson and Veitch in Courthouse has a pretty good selection of craft beers. It’s small, but they usually have beers you can’t find elsewhere. Good sandwiches too.
I’ve never been in the Euro Market. I’ll have to check that out.
Thanks everyone. I go to Euro Market sometimes because it’s so close to me, but I’ll check out some of these others too.
Definitely recommend total wine if you can get out to McLean or Alexandria. I usually hit it up once every few weeks to load up for the month. Westover has a great selection, but they can’t compete with Total Wine’s prices. If you’re looking for kegs, head on over to Arlington Market near W-L High School. Haven’t tried World of Beer yet.
