Shouting a lyric is disrespectful? Should people who have bad singing voices/tone deaf not be allowed to sing it either? No sing alongs?

    Captain_Obvious April 11, 2013 - 10:04 am #70469 Reply

in the National Anthem, yes.  its disrespectful.

This is a topic that is not debatable, so why do you keep going ?

So people who who are deaf shouldn’t be allowed to sing during the national anthem because it might sound disrespectful, let alone people who just suck at singing?

its disrespectful.  Debate over.  Move along now.  Don’t you have to copy and paste one of your typical rants ?

Good God you need to listen to yourself.  There is a big difference b/w singing the Anthem (no matter how bad you are) and shouting out a word b/c you think it supports your sports team.  Can you not see that?  There is no way you don’t, so you’re just being contrary for the sake of it.  Stop it.

of course he is.  He hasn’t found an article yet about smoking, guns, subway suicides, or libbies banning things yet.

So no doubt you people think it’s disrepsectful to wear a ny american flag item of clothing, right? Me being contrary? The only reason why you guys are whining is because you don’t like the orioles. You are the same people who throw tantrums becausce “God” is mentioned in the pledge of allegiance or that it is even said in schools. So spare me your concern about “respect”

How about a compromise:  instead of yelling “O” during the Anthem, why not deeply inhale and then blow a giant smoke ring in the shape of an “O”??  Would that satisfy your craving to cheer the O’s during the Anthem?

Wait – I can’t smoke in the Park?!?!?  WTF??  Darned libbies!!!!

haha, way to try to change the subject.  I believe I also said I hate when “red” is shouted at caps games and I’m a caps fan.

I’m not whining, dont attack me personally.  My favorite sports team is better than your favorite sports team.

You’re just pissed that the local team (and yes, the Nats are the local team) has already surpassed your beloved O’s.  But then 30 years of failure is its own reward, isn’t it?

And for the record, I have no idea what you’re talking about wrt Pledge.  Apples and oranges.

LOL. The nats, due to all the fair weather fans, will go back to empty seats once they start su cking again. 5 years from now when half the current fans have left the DC area, they won’t have any national following outside of DC whatsoever… I hate to break the news to you, but there are more bars in DC catering to NON Nationals fans than there are for Nationals fans. When transients, fair weather fans are your BASE, you have SERIOUS problems. Deny it all you want, but you know it’s true.

I don’t really care what other people think.  I support the local teams and the O’s are not local, sorry get over it.

And O’s fans are fair weather also.  More O’s gear around and higher attendance numbers last year = fair weather.

    Attendance comparison:

    2012:  Nats, 30,010.  O’s, 26,610

    2011:  Nats, 24,877.  O’s, 21,943

    2010:  Nats, 22,568.  O’s, 21,662

    ^^^ that’s a per game average.

Watch what happens when the nats go back to sucking. There are a LOT of home games. In a city of transients, that’s not good news.  Hence why baseball has always failed in DC.

    Captain_Obvious April 11, 2013 - 10:53 am #70487 Reply

ok, I’ll watch…a winner.  You’re just mad cause some of these Nats fans you speak of used to be O’s fans who got sick of incompetent ownership and decided to root for the local team in 2004…kind of what is currently happening with skins fans switching to ravens fans.
