Anyone witness the bike accident (car and bike colliding) in front of Red Top cab last night (Tuesday), probably around 6:35 or so?
Cops blocked Washington Blvd. and had two firetrucks and they were tending to the cyclist on the ground. I missed the accident but walked by shortly after. Curious what happened and how serious the cyclists injuries were.
If you don't bike in front of Red Top Cab, you don't get hit. Stick to the trail where you belong, especially during rush hour.

It's scary that people like you have a driver's license.

I'll wave to you from my bike on the road today. It'll be an awkward wave because I'll be in front of you, but that's okay.

Don't hit things, like you're supposed to when you're driving a car.

Agreed. That's a very dangerous area for cars, bikes and pedestrians alike. It's a poorly designed section of road and I would never bike on it for fear of my life.

I would never be on a bike sitting at that intersection of Wash/Kirkwood in front of Red Top, you're asking for someone to fly around that curve and take you out. There's a great example of, out of personal welfare and safety, I would cross the intersection in the crosswalk and keep moving out of there. I've seen cars nearly hit cars there, bikes are even harder to see. I've ridden along there before though and while it was fast moving and needed full attention, I didn't feel like I was in a deathtrap (although nighttime would scare me..). Clarendon/Wilson is much worse because the pedestrians step out in front of bikes all the time, cars turn on red without fully stopping and looking, etc.
