Home > General Discussion > Buffalo Wild Wings opening soon in Ballston?
-
The logos are on the door, the tables are outside, the umbrellas are up… looks promising!
The signs say they're hiring at the end of June. I'm looking for an opening the second week of July.
Is it selling out to corporate America to go to Buffalo Wild Wings over Carpool?
I might go once or twice but I will try not to betray my beloved First Down. Old Bay wings so good.

There's no chance Buffalo Wild Wings will have a better sauce than CJ's Sriracha at First Down. If you go there and haven't tried it, you need to.

Haven't tried that flavor yet, will get this weekend.
Heads up, the food at BWW is way better than Greene Turtle. Hopefully they get the same atmosphere the turtle had during Caps games.
On a related note, World of Beer is getting close to opening as well.

Yeah, we're reallly looking forward to it. We ate at that Greene Turtle once and it was just terrible. Could have sworn it was microwaved BJ's fare. Even kids eat free isn't enough to bring us back. I've been to other BWW's before and it's far superior.

Being a shitty restaurant/bar is not exclusive to large chain restaurants. Local joints can be shitty too.

True, but the odds of being utterly sub-par is far more likely at the large national chain. The little local place has to be decent to survive in the short term, forget the long run.
I've worked at chains and mom and pop shops. If you've worked at most mom and pop shops, you won't eat there. Chain stores usually hold much higher standards and have rules in place for cleanliness, whereas mom and pop shops tend to be a little more relaxed on certain things.
Got a flyer in the mail today that says opening on 7/16
