Converting photographic negatives into digital files? Looking for reputable place to have this done.

I have all our wedding negatives (about 2 inch square kind) and I'd like to have them converted to digital files.  Since these negatives are important to us, I want the job done right.  Is there any place in Arlington or nearby areas that do a good job with this? Thanks.

You can go to any camera store and get it done, but depending on how many you need, it's going to cost you.  Just a thought, and again depending on how many pics you need to convert, but you might consider buying one of those negative to digital converters and doing it yourself (those Hammacher Schlemmer dudes from “Sky Mall” have one that I've heard is good).  That way you can do the same thing for other photos, if you have any.

you might check out Foxchase Photography on Duke Street, in the Landmark-ish area of ALX. about 5 years ago i had them do some conversion with my folks'’ old 8mm videos. i assume they’re still there, at least…

I recall seeing a lot of desktop scanners that came with a negative holder so that you place the holder in the cover of the scanner, and it can easily capture the negative…Inverting the colors is simple with software.  If you have the time to do it yourself, you can do it for basically free (the flatbed scanners are very cheap now).

If you have lots and lots of negatives, it could take a long time to do, and I imagine the photo places have it automated. Not sure how much it runs though.

If you have alot of them, it might be worth the money to buy your own scanner and slide adapter and do it yourself.

I bought a photo scanner at Christmas and have been using it to digitize all my photos. It came with a negative holder and one for slides as well.  It works great.
