Anyone having issues with their connection dying? It just happened to me twice and a couple days ago. I was talking to some friends and they experienced the same issues around the same time as me. I live in the Yorktown area.
Have had issues getting full speed of connection lately, but connectivity has been pretty solid.
I wasn’t around this weekend, but I have lost my FIOS about a half dozen times over the last month – usually overnight or when I’m at work. I live near 7 Corners. The internet connection shows up as yellow instead of green on the wireless router. Unplugging the power for ~30 seconds and then plugging it back in usually works, but there really isn’t a reason it should happen at all.
When it happened in early January, the unplug/plug back in trick didn’t work, and Verizon couldn’t find anything wrong on their end, so they sent a new router. By the time the new router arrived, the old one was back up and working just fine – so I’ve had the same dropout problem with two routers (the ‘old’ one was only ~1 year old) – so I don’t think the problem is on the router side, but Verizon insists that their signal isn’t at fault. Prior to January, I think it had happened twice in the previous 3 years.
But it’s only the internet that fails – the phone and TV don’t go out at the same time.
