Flip Flops AKA Sandals Hate
  • RelaxBrah September 21, 2012 - 2:43 pm #57447 Reply

I truly don't understand the hate for bros wearing flip flops.

    Pros:

    • Less laundering of my black Nike high ankle socks (talk about going green)
    • Reason to cut your toenails
    • Shows upfront that my toes appropriately decrease in length starting with my big toe (no surprises here)
    • Black sandals go with just about every outfit
    • Breathability (sometimes feet sweat)
    • Did I mention less laundry?
    • Affordable (can anyone say economy?)

    Cons

    • Weird tan line
    • Increased potential for skin cancer on your foot
    • Dirty feet… sounds like my problem, not yours

Please shed some enlightenment on the anti-sandal movement.

Fun fact I found out while writing this post:  The big toe is also called the hallux.

    Peace.

    Cons:

    Bad for your feet

    Look really stupid sometimes

Everything looks stupider when everyone is suddenly wearing it at the same time (see Ugg boots)

Dynaroo, That's a clown statement bro!

    Bogus on both accounts.

    1.  Sandals are good for your feet bc one must use more foot muscles to walk, in turn developing a stronger foot than, let's say a boat shoe (Sperry preferably).

    2.  Unless the sandals have fur on them, most don't, you cant compare them to Ugg boots.  Sandals are too plain and common to look stupid.  That's like saying a group of people wearing blue jeans looks stupid.

    Get a clue bro-naroo. Cool

Flip flops AKA sandals?  They are not the same.  Example: Flip flops = gay, sandals = most excellent.  It all comes down to that annoying thing between your hallux and middle toe.

    cool story, bro

I like both sandals and flippers, however neither one make for good get-away shoes. Winkie face!

RelaxBrah – I meant to give you a +1 but hit the thumbs down by accident. Why does the thumbs down come before the thumbs up on this site? Probably designed by some depressed downer of an IT cubicle monkey.

Anyway, people who hate on sandals/flip flops are morons, especially in this city. In the summer when it's 100+ degrees with 90% humidity why the hell would you wear anything but shorts and flip flops? Have fun sweating your nuts off in jeans, socks, and shoes, assholes.

    1. I defy you to find a single podiatrist who agrees with you (and this isn't about sandals, but specifically the flip flop type).

    2. Yes, you look stupid in your flip flops too. Really, really stupid. You should thank me for informing you.

Nice throwing shorts in there, as if you can't wear shorts without flipflops. Or even go sockless without them.

Actually, guys who wear socks and shoes in the hot summer look stupider than wearing flip flops…its a matter of comfort.

The anti-sandal movement? Either sandal wearers are very paranoid and pretentious, or this unseen “movement” are people with very little to do in their lives.

Yea I don't get it, what's the big deal?  Is it anti-sandal towards everyone, or just males?  Someone please explain why I should wear shoes and socks when its a 100 degrees outside…

And I don't care what's good for my feet, I just want to be comfortable and I am comfortable in sandals when its hot out.

Nobody said you have to wear socks, or even shoes.

    You will care someday.

So barefoot is better?  No thanks, I don't want my bare feet stepping on dog crap, glass, etc…

You're right, I might care someday, and hopefully I'll be too old to move around then anyway so it won't matter.
