Per #59278, the new system is designed so we cant tell who replies to who. Just note the comment number for future reference, that’s so much easier…
But I have seen people quoting here in the forums. I think there are probably lots of new things we can do here, we just haven’t figured them out.

I miss:
– the tiny button at the top that took you to the bottom of the page
– the tiny button at the bottom that took you to the top of the page
– the drop-down at the bottom of the page that showed you the topic names that have new posts
– the numbering of posts within each topic (i.e., 1-27). Really don’t like the “post id” 5-digit numbers. They tell me nothing about popularity of the topic.
– voting – I really miss the thumbs up/thumbs down – gave me food for thought
I can understand how some members like SWAG feel. Hey, what can you do? None of my several suggestions were added to the scheme of things here, Sh.. ! I don’t even know if any suggestions were considered. However, except for the crime map missing, the changes are for the better.
Ah – I think I found part of the problem with the new forum design – one of the advertisers.

Yeah, not a fan of the “new” forum.
I completely dislike the new forums. Some Issues I’m having:
The body font, though sans serif, is very difficult to read. Its different from the news story body font, which is odd. Cute fonts are good for 1) artsy websites and 2) headers. Stick with Arial for body text since this is a news site.
When replying to a post, the reply doesn’t go under that post – that was an integral part of the banter.
No ability to rate comments – thumbs up/thumbs down was an integral part of the forums
Page numbering at the bottom is too small.
Page numbering for main forum – there are too few numbers – currently it’s 1, 2…70. Would be helpful to have a few more numbers.
There is a text editor for comments, and HTML code displays <ul><li>, but bullets don’t show on submission. Bullets are great – why not show them???
What do I like? Spell check.
