Anyone know what’s going on out there tonight? There has been a helocopter circling low over our Ballston neighborhood for about 30 minutes now and I just saw two policemen with a dog walking down our street.
Apparently two men pulled guns on people running the local trails and the police are searching for them.
Again? Very concerning especially with the fact that 2 local running stores use the trail on Tuesdays for group fun runs.
I’m curious if that’s the case, why will it take several days to inform the public of this, especially if they are still on the loose? Wouldn’t it make sense to warn people by providing a description so they can avoid those people or call the police to tell them?
I have a feeling there are politically correct forces at play. So it’s best to put the public at risk than possibly offend.
Yeah, I agree that descriptions, if available, ought to be given out ASAP. But what makes you think the reason descriptions haven’t been released have to do with political correctness?
Well, I can’t figure out why else they would put the public at risk by withholding information. Can you think of any other reason why they wouldn’t even tell us that there are gunmen on the loose?
Agree, would like to know whether the 2 armed hooded men were apprehended. @Hank, with regards to political correctness, I believe @novasteve means they were likely black wearing hoodies or the clan wearing hoods as well. You can wager which is more plausible. The fact is these 2 men were likely not apprehend or there would be information regarding the incident. - Big C
@ Hank. Can you think of any other possible reason why the ACPD would wihhold that there are gunmen on the loose? What other possible reason would they ahve for putting the public at risk by keeping hte information from them? If you can think of any possible other reason, I’m all ears. But I can’t think of any .
If only those runners had guns, this tragedy could have been avoided.
ACPD just issued this press release about the armed robbery on the Custis Trail.
Wow, that was quick. Normally they wait a few days until the crime roundup picks it up. Though they should release it immediately so that people know that a gunman is on the loose.
