Hey Hashers- don't be tools!

A crowd of about 15 of  you climbed over a fence so that you could run through Colonial Village today.  I know, because I saw you.  I also saw you stomp on our bushes while you were climbing over our fence.  Did you think this was OK?  I yelled out the window and one alpha male responded ‘Sorry!’ as if it happened by accident. Please keep your striped socks off of private property.

Meh… it’s the Colonial Village. They were probably doing you a favor.

I thought the forum was now moderated to discourage trolls, no?

While I can sympathize with your concerns, I can almost guarantee you that the people who did this as well as any authority figures they may have in their lives are definitely NOT going to be following this thread.  I guess it doesn’t hurt to try though.

Then what is it called when someone disses where you live? Is there another, more acceptable term? Is whatever that term is allowed on the newly moderated forum?

Being snarky? I don’t think his objective was to hurt your feelings.

His objective wasn’t to hurt feelings? This is your excuse? Clearly, if you make a snarky/critical comment about where someone lives, it’s going to be perceived as hateful and offensive.

It doesn’t take much thought to realize this.

Re: moderator thing..remember, “we encourage our moderators to enforce these guidelines like a hockey ref — let ‘em play through minor infractions, but step in when things start to get out of hand”.

There is also: “In turn, we encourage our users to be mindful of the guidelines”

We can all play nice in the sandbox, let’s not let this thread end up with knees on the ice

    Then what is it called…

Preserving lower income housing to provide a living area for service-type-people to “afford?”

Hmmmm… What word should we use to describe such… “Affordable Housing.”

Clearly if we acknowledge Colonial Village for what it is, it undermines the newspeak word for Welfare Units… while at the same time reminding Citizens that we have already checked that block, and that further government intervention is not necessary.

@KalasniKEV- I am afraid you are incorrect in referring to Colonial Village comprehensively as ‘insert whatever word you want here’.  Colonial Village is actually several different communities: CVI, CVII, CVIII, The Commons, CV West and the Wesley Housing section, the latter of which is where I suspect you have your concerns.  CVs I-III are all condo.

    Yes. What Kalish said.

I also walked by a car this morning and thought it was an ugly color. And, there was a pile of trash I didn’t like on the side of the road. It was smelly too.

Though, I hope I didn’t hurt anyone’s feelings because I have an opinion about things I don’t care for.

Colonial Village is a fine set of residences. The vast majority are market rate condos. It’s particularly lazy thinking to suggest that the qualities of a subset of Colonial Village apply to everything simply sharing the same name – though I expect nothing more from KKKev.
