How do I become un-moderated?
  • BreakPause02 June 7, 2012 - 10:40 am #50492 Reply

My comments on the main site are always moderated.  It seems that some of my early comments were flagged, but since then, nearly all seem to go through.  Does ARLNOW ever take people off this list?

Yeah… me too.  It started when I, rather innocuously, suggested that [redacted] was certain to make significant use of the new Arlington online discussion system.  Not sure how that one inspired it, because far far worse gets posted daily.  That was months ago.  Meh, if arlnow thinks [redacted] deserves special protected status, whatever…

Sometimes I get moderated, sometimes I don't. Sometimes comments show up instantly, sometimes they never appear.

Generally speaking, however, the first rule of comment/forum moderation is that you do not talk about comment/forum moderation, since those subjects tend to get you moderated.

It's random for me, some words must trigger it.

There is precedence for this – I believe Xinhua has the same policy.

if u mention another user's name it seems to moderate automatically.

Yes – mention another user name – almost guaranteed moderation. There must also be other buzzwords. I also wonder if posting frequency / volume within a certain period of time must also factor in.
