Can't tell if this is a joke or not, but which direction? Obviously 10th to 50E is closed since they blew up that stupid bridge at 7am on a Saturday months ago. But, do you mean the 50W onto 10th exit? They've been doing some work there recently, maybe they're finally paving that gaping hole in the ramp that threatens to rip axles off small cars

Yes, the offramp is closed according to radio reports.
Huh, haven't been by there in the past few days. I'll let you know later today when I drive by. They may finally be filling in that giant hole, it was causing people to come to a screeching halt once they got used to it. Has been there for weeks (early September was the first time I ran over it and nearly cried over my poor suspension)
The bridge looks like it's coming along though, I thought it was due to open next Summer..
From VDOT:
Bridge from southbound 10th Street to eastbound Rt. 50 (Detour Washington Boulevard to N. Pershing to Rt. 50) and the ramp from westbound Route 50 to N. Fairfax Drive. Spring 2012 to fall 2013. See the detour map for this phase.
The ramp from 10th Street to westbound Route 50 remains open but may be impacted by lane closures and traffic shifts.I guess it may be closed for good for awhile, crap
Edit: this is only Fairfax Dr which has been shut down for awhile. By the looks of the map, I can't really tell if they lump 10th st in. It does look like that's the 10th St ramp closed though. Sucks
Yeah, thanks for the heads up VDOT. With all the other closures, I'm not really sure the best detour. Looping around to Pershing sucks, but coming up through Courthouse isn't much better. I guess I'll go with the later and hope Wilson isn't hosed

Looks like nanny state libbies are trying to run our lives even more by fixing freeway entrance and exits.
Why do you even have to say that? I'm glad they're fixing that hole, but the VDOT site makes no mention of it. Some people use those roads, we were trying to share information. What a useless comment in an otherwise useful thread.
I could have sworn I saw a sign saying that ramp would be closed around now, but I can't for the life of me remember when I saw it or what the duration of the closure would be. I vaguely remember seeing maybe a week or two tops for that ramp. I have no idea why I didn't pay more attention since I use that ramp all the time given where I live in Clarendon.
Drove by, they have a big electronic sign up saying the ramp was to close on or about 10/21. I thought I saw a bus exiting on it but I got off at Courthouse Rd so that I wouldn't have to go around. No info on when it'll be open again. Hopefully soon, it's a major artery into Clarendon
Hopefully they are repaving it because right now it is a mess, I will bottom out unless I slam on the brakes and go 5 mph.

Same. It would create backup, especially in the afternoon too. This may be for bridge/surround area work though too..hopefully it's repaved and not out too long

Tried to use this ramp from westbound 50 to 10th St. yesterday. It was closed. Detoured one more exit to Pershing and it was fine.
I don't know what they're doing on this project. . . but it's pretty bad that it's been about 5 weeks without even paving Rt50 Eastbound. I'm not an engineer, and don't know at what temperature it's too cold for asphalt to properly cure/stick. . . but if it's not going to get paved until Spring, I'm going to be pissed.
Until then. . . I drive Pershing, and Courthouse to get to Rosslyn to not @#$@ up my car.
