Strange as it may sound, I find myself coming back to this site less and less with each day that Nova Steve does not post. Does anyone know where he is?
Oh, don’t you worry, sir or madam. Steve is still here under the alias “MrMeow.” His crotchety rants are as entertaining and filled with unfounded critiques as always.
Surely, you can’t be serious…
You have to say, though, that his rants increased page hits and there was a lot more active debate (such as it was) with him around.
Perhaps his exile (self-imposed or not) will end and Mr. Meow will start some topics today – it’s Friday and I would love a little pre-weekend entertainment.
It’s too bad his absence coincided with the site design change. The latter is the driver for less activity here more than the lack of noise and that may get confused.

Pretty much this. Especially the forums. Something as simple as not being able to see what posts are new has a huge negative effect on forum regulars. This place is dead.

I submitted two responses to this earlier and they disappeared into the void with nary an error message in sight! Yes, the new format kills it! I can’t see what’s new, can’t see locked threads, generally hard to read, etc.
I’m sure Arlnow monitors the forum, so I’m a little surprised, given the negative reaction, that there hasn’t been either an explanation (like, “I paid for a month so I have to keep it now” or something), or an admission that the new format blows and a return to the old one. Just like “New Coke”.
