Post article. IRS admits targeting conservatives for tax scrutiny in 2012 election.

This is a test, of my lip-biting skills. :-) Let it be known that I will not be taking part in this thread. Yes, sort of like putting a bag of taco chips in front of oneself to learn discipline. :-) But, knowing that a friend will soon be knocking on the door who will partake of the chips. :-)

Dezlboy,  you like to “live dangerously” :)  You know this is going to go over like a preacher at a Ridge Runners convention!  Maybe it’ll even break the number of pages on the gun march thread!

The Internal Revenue Service on Friday acknowledged that it flagged political groups with "tea party" or "patriot" in their names for special scrutiny when they applied for tax-exempt status

Translation: We look extra careful when groups who claim to be anti-government and anti-taxation apply for tax-free status.

I think there are probably worse scandals.

The bait is set … !

Drudge and Rush and Hannity were all over this story today.  Ah, how the uninformed dolts doth banter about in things they have no knowledge, or a willingness to put things in perspective.  All of this IRS activity was done under a Bush Administration appointee.   Nothing to do with Obama, Marxism, indoctrinations, or Socialism.   If you believe Rush, and think the IRS will “Police” Obama care, you probably think Bozo oversee’s Congress (no wait, he probably does on the house side) or you think the “Supreme” court is from Motown.   Again, facts, the IRS was looking into TAX DODGERS; People who collect money, but don’t pay taxes, and hide behind monikers containing the words  “Patriot” and “Tea Party.”   The IRS should no more be apologizing than your ACPD officer for pulling you over for driving in the bike lane  (but then the law probably doesn’t apply to 20 somethings texting while driving).

Recall Samuel Johnson saying, “Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel.”   The IRS was only looking for “scoundrels,”  but then we all know none of them would dare to hide behind a “Tea Party” ,”Patriot,” or any Right Wing label,  now would they?   The IRS and the President are bowing to political pressure and sadly now these tax dodging clown patriots will get away with not paying taxes on thev money they get for misinforming the public.  Maybe we should apply for a 501-C tax exempt status as a “Patriot Arlnow posters” and join our Patriot” crooked brethren with tax exempt status!  Pay taxes? Naw, we’re all “Patriots”!!!!

Four days later and there are five comments anticipating a massive scrum/argument and a grand total of two comments actually commenting substantively on the subject matter.

Perhaps as it should be with regards to this non-scandal of a scandal.
