This article got me thinking about what the ColPike streetcar project…estimated cost $240M.  If I recall correctly from the townhall meeting, the cost estimate didn’t take risks, such as delays due to utility companies/infrastructure, into account and that the eventual cost could skyrocket to anywhere between $250M-$400M or even more!  But Tejada shrugged it off as those risks being quite incidental.

Fret not, soon enough Walter Tejada will have to answer to Q of the Continuum.

The scary part is that $7.5 million of the original contract was for road work. And they’ve since tacked 1.6 million on to that. The way Arlington builds and maintains roads, 7.5 million is a lot of money.

    It’s not a road, it’s 0.5 mile “multi-modal transportation corridor.”
