Manning, 35 years, too little or too much?

@ALL: I don’t argue with the sentence, and can understand why some want less, some more. I think 30 years is reasonable, expecially with possibility of parole in 12 years. That provides time for an “historical” perspective. Currently 12 years seems to short. But, in 12 years, I might think different.

NS, why does everything have to be political?  And why does everything bad in your opinion, a result of the far left?

This is not a political issue.

You’re frothing at the mouth a bit novasteve.

Because it is always the far left that turns criminals into political causes. Kill a cop? Write a children’s book, liberals will turn you into a hero. It is political because it is something the far left does and only them.

Recall that one cop killer that liberals were screeching about that got executed, they were saying how wrong the death penalty was? Well, the same day he was executed, the guy who dragged James Byrd to death was also executed, without a peep of outrage. I thought the death penalty was the death penalty…

Eddie Slovik was executed for being afraid to killed in combat. Yet a completely mentally disturbed traitor gets 35 years? This is justice?

I’m l istening to a Uk based talk show right now, with a man from the ACLU on it, who said what Manning did shouldn’t be viewed as a serious crime, and that blah blah is far worse, and that he should be viewed as a hero. Says leaks to the press shouldn’t be considered treason, said the materials should never been classified in the first place, and thus it shouldn’t have been a crime to release it.
    This is political.

Are you suggesting that Manning’s sentence is too severe? Or are you posing the liberal reaction to the sentence. If the former, I am very surprised. If the latter, I assure you that “liberals” can state their positions themselves as individuals, or separate groups, or in context, etc, much better than you can. But, I love it when you speak for “liberals” cause you make me laugh.

@C_O: Agreed, this is not political.

No. He was not. Everyone is afraid to be killed in combat.

Slovik was killed for being a deserter.

You’re using the same logic as the libs you proclaim hatred towards…

“Manning was sentenced to 35 years for exposing our manipulative foreign policy and acts of war against non combatants…”

No. He was not. Manning was sentenced to 35 years for aiding the enemy.

nope, not political.  But its funny how you troll your way to politics in every discussion.

Curious, when you cut yourself shaving, do you blame liberals?

    novasteve August 21, 2013 - 12:39 pm #84687 Reply

There was no conviction of aiding the enemy. And stealing government secrets and then giving them away is worse than deserting.

And the ACLU lib was all “we need to not punish people for exposing how much wrong the US government does”

It’s absolutely political because M anning is a darling of the far left. His defense was political, with all of that transgender nonsense to appeal to liberal sensitivities. I am 100% certain he will demand a sex change in jail and even win over more liberals.

Novasteve, I think the only way to really prove your point is to do something horrible and see if LIBERALS make you a hero in the years to come.  I suggest mass murder of puppies.

Same talkshow now has people calling up saying the USA is the worst country on earth and it needs to get revealed and that someone needs to stand up to the USA. Is it just a coincidence that far left anti americans support Manning?. He is saying that it is routine for US soldiers to use civilians as target practice. So Kev, he’s saying for fun, you would kill people. This is nothing btu far left liberal anti americanism.

The lefty is saying that Americans are the terrorists. That the Taliban isn’t bad, that we are the bad guys….

Is it just a coincidence that liberals like that are praising Manning?

    Typical far left.
