Gotta get rid of all the homeless bums who ruin our community after all.

(To those new here: I am being completely sarcastic to mock another frequent poster's hateful and hypocritical views, so don't get antsy).

Thank you for correcting the link, Steve. That's actually a nice story. My only question is why aren't the healthy women (mentally and physically) re-enlisting if they have no place else to go?

whoa there tiger. i wasn’t using it to do anything but point out hypocrisy. you and kalashnikev are the ones who lack empathy or insight on this issue. the guy who masturbates in front of a child at a park is as likely to be a consultant as he is unemployed and homeless. and the guy who is homeless is more likely to be a veteran than the population at large.
put another way: there is no correlation between homelessness and sex offending. there is a correlation between homelessness and military service, and there’s also a correlation between increased rates of psychiatric illness and military service. the point being, maybe you and your brother in vitriol should think a little more before demonizing an entire population of americans.

Not that you can really say that the mentally ill always “choose” to be homeless, but that's not the point.

People who make obviously ridiculous arguments usually aren’t equipped to understand when you explain in detail why they are ridiculous, otherwise they wouldn’t make them in the first place. So I don’t really hold out much hope, and I warn you not to expect too much either. But it’s fun to try.

PTSD, depression…
Veterans get it alot. Some end up homeless too. Also, non-veterans get those and end up homeless.
And they aren't choices either. Who would choose that?

Just about Every single politician we have has narcissistic personality disorder, a mental illness, and they are able to make choices. Having a mental illness doesn't preclude you from making choices.

Didn't mean that. I meant that if the mental illness is the CAUSE of homelessness, it's not entirely a choice to be homeless.
