Help build a future of excellence for Latino youth this spring with Edu-Futuro’s Emerging Leaders Program (ELP).
Since 2006, Edu-Futuro has delivered the Emerging Leaders Program, empowering more than 70+ youth each year as they contemplate college, apply for scholarships, and submit college applications with the guidance of their mentors. Students also develop their public speaking and writing skills, participate in college field trips, and benefit from college and career connections. Results show that 85% of youth in ELP increase their knowledge of the college application process and, of the students scheduled to graduate, 85% enroll in college. Most students in the program will be the first in their family to attend college in the United States.
Join ELP and provide guidance and advice to a Latino youth on the college application process, college life, career paths, and academics. For our spring semester, mentors will meet with their mentees on Saturdays from Saturday, March 16th through Saturday, April 20th, 2013. Learn more and download a mentor application at http://bit.ly/ELPONE Mentor applications are due on March 8th, 2013. All mentor applicants undergo a background check and attend an orientation on the first day of the program (March 16th).
Please contact us at info@edu-futuro.org or at 703-228-2560 should you have any questions or seek more information on the program.
We look forward to receiving your application!
While I think this is a noble cause, why limit it by ethnicity?
While I think this is a noble cause, why limit it by ethnicity?
Because socialism.
Edu-Futuro was founded by the Bolivian community to address the needs of Latino children and youth in partnership with the Arlington Public School system. If my Chilean ancestors happened to landlock your Bolivian ancestors in the War of the Pacific, will you still except me?
Will youth of other ethnic minority groups be allowed to join. They need Mentors too!
Is that the war with that famous battle between a minotor and some less modern ship?
