Anyone have any thoughts on Metro-ing to Capitol South and walking? Am trying to avoid a transfer and was wondering what the route was like between the Metro and the stadium.
Thanks

I’ve done it before (the other way, from the Navy Yard Metro stop to Capitol South Metro)- it’s 15-20 minute (brisk) walk, mostly down New Jersey Ave. It wasn’t difficult, though considering the neighborhoods I might avoid it late at night. But unless there's some delay for the green line, transferring at L'Enfant will be 10-15 minutes quicker.
Fun fact- after the DC earthquake, I walked from work (near Navy Yard) to the National Mall, ran into my wife there by an incredible coincidence, and we walked all the way to Arlington National Cemetery, where we caught a cab home.
I always do that post-game to avoid the crowds and have a better chance at a seat.
No worries about it being dark, as there's lots of company during the trek…lots of people do this.
Thanks, Folks. Planning to do this post Bruce concert on Friday. To be honest, I 'd rather lose 15 minutes than be sandwiched.

Probably a good idea- when I did it there wasn't a big crowd- it was just maintenance delay on the green line. Although after a baseball game once, at Navy Yard station, the crowd was so big that I took the next southbound train and switched over to northbound to get onboard before the crowds tried to cram themselves in.
