Where are some good NYE parties in Arlington or DC? I’ve heard of a lot of different hotel fixed-fee parties. Would like to hear some possitive/negative experiences.
P.S. Is it just me or has the forum activity decreased after the design change?

big-time, you can no longer hit reply to someone and have their comment show up as well. Or I haven’t figured out an easy way to do it.
I agree that forum activity has decreased since the design change. I have tried, but just can’t get used to it. The excitement has waned.
I do like the email notifications when people respond. Cool new feature. But back to the original question. Where the party at??
I once went to the Wardman Park for the International Club’s NYE party. We had VIP tickets. As I recall, the food was good but that was the best part.
By 10 pm, the women’s bathrooms were vile. We left at 11 to celebrate at home.
Well, one reason that the forum has declined is that a certain controversial poster isn’t posting. Without his topics, there is a lot less to fight about!

There is someone posting on today’s morning notes and a couple of other topics called Mr. Meow. That may the the latest incarnation of said controversial poster.
I thought the same thing (and we aren’t alone, as plenty of folks are openly calling Mr. Meow “Steve”). But I miss the typical “Can you believe the libs this time?” topic, with a link to some weird thing happening 1,000 miles from here. Good times….
What age/gender are you? What bars do you normally go out to? That might help us to help you.
IMO, a lot of bars do the “pay $100 for open bar all night” thing and they all suck horribly. They always are so overcrowed that you can’t even approach the bar, let alone drink $100 worth of booze. If you’re a hot chick, maybe you’ll disagree, but I’m a dude so I don’t know.

Those damn libs are trying to take away my right to walk around doing illegal stuff while minding my own business!
Not sure if they are playing this year, but I heard The Legwarmers at the State Theatre is a good time.
To Newty25 #60000……LOL! Sir, you nailed it! Spot on!

Thanks… we used to be all full up on crazy around here and now that steve’s gone we lack that extremism that he brought to the forum.
I’m glad that way out extremism is gone! Being conservative is one thing. Coming across as a wild eyed extremist whose elevator didn’t go to the top floor is another. I’ll enjoy the far more peaceful form while I can.
