Paging Swag: the elevator

Have you used the new one yet? Thoroughly unimpressed. 6 months and the only difference is that it is wood paneled now and talks..

Yeah, I don’t get the whole talking elevator thing. How lazy do you have to be to not look at the floor number?

Upgrade is good though. It doesn’t bounce and creak as much, which isn’t the most reassuring thing to hear from an elevator.

Of course once they finish all these upgrades, they’ll finally get around to upgrading the rent.

Well the voices could aid blind people. My rent went up $76 a month starting May 1. But it has for the several past years.

Mine hasn’t gone up for the past couple years, but it looks like it will this year.

Maybe only 1 out of the past 4 years mine hasn’t gone up, otherwise every year it goes up by  70-76 per month. It’s gone up $376 a month for me since I moved in in 2007.

I’m at $1316 after three and a half years. Started at $1253

Any particular reason you are having this exchange in the forum instead of via email or perhaps face-to-face chat in your new elevator?

To irritate you. Is it working?

You are lucky.. I take it that’s a studio or you are related to the owner?

Pretty lucky.  It’s not a studio and I am related to the owner.

Yeah, it’s one of the non-balcony studios. Pretty much no way my rent won’t go up this year.

Even if it does go up, y ours hasn’t been going up remotely as much as mine has. Funny my rent started at $1228 a month for a 1 BR, no balcony back in 2007.
