Porsche of Arlington

Does anyone know what’s going on with the Porsche of Arlington space at the corner of Jeff Davis and S. Glebe?  Looks like they’re tearing down the building.  Are they just renovating or are there plans for placing something new there?

Probably Harris Teeter is having a levee installed.

@fedworker, I emailed the dealership asking the same as you asked.  The reply was to the effect, “Thanks for contacting us. Call me so I can help you buy a (totally expensive, way out of my league) Porsche.  (Heck, I do own a Porsche cousin…..VW).

I think there was a story about it on ARLnow. I don’t remember what it said though.

Methinks they are just tearing it down.  They took over the former BMW of Arlington’s building right next door.

They’ve excavated though, so there’s definitely some new building going up.

Neither one of those buildings meets the standards required to be a Porsche dealership.  It wouldn’t surprise me if they’re constructing a new facility.  I figured they were either going to build a new facility at the current site or move to the Audi of Alexandria spot when that dealership moves to Columbia Pike (both are owned by Rosenthal).

I guess I’m the one who has to do a search.

I told you it was on ARLnow.

This is from almost two years ago. Hell of a memory I’ve got.

I think you’re confusing the Mercedes dealership in Ballston with the Porshe dealership at S. Glebe and Jeff Davis.

All these “sighs” make me sigh.

    Sorry. Mea culpa.

I still swear I saw an article about it on ARLnow. This time I’m not going to even try to find it though.

(FYI, the sigh was about going and looking it up).

Sigh about your sigh.  I went ahead and gave them a quick call.  A guy from Porsche of Arlington confirmed that its a renovation project then went on to ask which model I’m interested in coming in to see and test drive.

@fedworker, at least you got real info. All I got over the weekend was the sales pitch.  Now, can we talk about the Silver Line delay? :-)
