Power in Courthouse??
  • Rob M June 30, 2012 - 9:31 pm #51704 Reply

Threw in the towel and headed out of town to Williamsburg after the power went out in Colonial Village. Need to know when i should headback into town. Does anybody in Courthouse have power yet?

Courthouse Road/50 vicinity here — never lost power, just A/C. Looks like the power is on at Scheffield Court, Vista, Courtland Towers, the Rocky Run apartments, and Ft. Myer. Can’t comment on the north side of Wilson.

I'm in Clarendon and I'm good. My sister is in Rossyln, and she's fine there too. Not sure about the in between though.

It's pretty hit or miss, but most of Courthouse/Clarendon seems to be good. Check the comments in the update posts on the main page. That's where most people are sorting out outages.

My power came back on around noon, so it was about out for 12 hours. I went for a walk later on to clarendon and the liquor store was closed due to no power, but trader joes had power

Bits of CV came back last night, not all though!  One quadrant of the courtyard on Wilson and Rhodes is still out.

Which of our grocery stores besides TJ's is functioning properly?

I tried to go to the SFW in 7 corners, lights still out, they're only selling non fridged non frozen foods, cash only.

I never lost power at Courtland Park, and most places on the Clarendon/Wilson corridor seem to be up and running.

Colonial Village II appears to be unlikely to get power soon.  The line that supplies most of the units between Rhodes and Troy was taken clean out by a large tree branch.  Carnage below:

Hmmm…CVII is weird in that some never when out and some came back on.  My courtyard has one of each: stayed on, went out and came back and still out! I am the latter…grrr.

Giant has a Generator and was working all day yesterday. Whole Foods is open but they had to throw our a lot of fresh foods – meat and fish really depleted

Still no power in my quadrant of colonial village off Troy and Wilson. The rest of colonial village seemed to have power.

Colonial Village has been pretty bad.

I do want to thank ARLnow and every one of you who has posted their updates and stories and frustrations on this forum.  I'm at work now so I feel semi-human right now.  I had nothing but a stupidphone that barely worked to keep me updated on what was going on in our corner of the world, and I am so grateful.  Y'all have been immensely helpful.  I apologize for not being part of the conversation – I wanted to waste as little gas as possible charging the phone…

I wonder if I can go home and be miserable again this afternoon.  This heat just sucks the life outta me.
