There used to be such great articles in ArlNow about local restaurant openings. I haven’t seen any stories like this in a long time. What happened?
The other day I saw two new restaurants getting ready to open in Ballston on Glebe – Red Parrot and Il Forno. What other places are coming soon?
How do people like Leek….I’ve been wondering
Why write articles when you can get people to write them for you and just call them “Opinion” pieces?
Yeah….I was thinking that too. It would be more interesting to read restaurant “news”….
We reported about Red Parrot (http://www.arlnow.com/2012/03/01/coming-to-ballston-red-parrot-asian-bistro/) and Il Forno (http://www.arlnow.com/2012/10/09/new-italian-restaurant-coming-to-ballston/) last year and have run 7 articles about new restaurants so far this month (http://www.arlnow.com/tag/new-restaurant/).
Also, we’re planning to report on a new restaurant in Lyon Park tomorrow.
Man, I’m pretty new here, but what a tough crowd!
Leek has mixed reviews on yelp, however, that new Russian place is getting really good reviews.

Just keeping the ArlNow crew on their toes.
I do wish the opinion stuff would get moved somewhere else because it’s clogging up the real news. But I also understand that it’s easier to sell that stuff when you can tell then that the number of arlnow.com pageviews is the number of pageviews on their article, as opposed to being on an opinion page which by definition would likely get fewer views.
