Restaurant Talk Column: Ideas?

CO- I am suggesting just that. Shocker! There is no need for a fake TV lawyer. Really. Restaurants are staffed by human beings. You can actually talk to them and communicate your needs. Vegan is not the norm but they can accommodate most requests. Or how bought he just not eat out so much. Cook your own food if you are so picky or so bent out of shape by the menus around here.

I used to work in a nice restaurant years ago in college.  The chef there loved when he was able to make something different than what was on the menu.

I have been the recipient of those meals. There have been times when my meal was so good that others at my table wished they had the same thing. There is a lot of creativity and care taken when a chef creates something off menu. They really want you to enjoy it. But most of the time I can order from the regular menu. It has gotten a lot easier over the years as it has become more widely accepted.

I am thoroughly aggrieved by the sinister vegan agenda evident in this thread, although I’m happy to see that Novasteve will be primed for office once he and AKB take down the carnivore industrial complex.

I’ve got no problem with people eating meat. I used to eat meat. It’s delicious.  Anyway, I’ve been off topic so now I’ll shut up.

@CommentBot: You know the superstition that play by play announcers aren’t suppossed to say “looks like the pitcher might be heading for a perfect game” ?  Well………..   :-)

Sunshine: You just won the thread. I have decided to not eat out – I keep wanting to try new places that might serve vegan. So, a waste of time and energy and money for then going vegetarian. No more. I am voting with my checkbook. If I break this experiment, then I will post. So, this is last post. If no one hears from me again, then I am not trying any restaurant. My silent protest, too.

NB: I have called places, like that little serow and hill country, only to be laughed at. I still went with my group, but had nothing. Yes, it may work to call but my experience says it will rarely work. Okay, bye. My eating home only and not posting here begins now.
