Should family members of Politicians have to report gifts made?

    Someone on the street could drop those bottles in his recycling. I need to know what goes on inside of his house don’t I?

    You know that whooshing sound?…it wasn’t an airplane, it was the point flying right over your head.

    You haven’t met steve?

    You know that skit on Saturday Night Live where they goof on the things said by the hosts of “Fox & Friends”?  Reading Steve’s posts in this thread remind me of that skit.  Steve, fess up – are you a writer for SNL?  Seriously, are you?

    Yeah… his analogy of a spouse receiving a gift and cameras in the bedroom is probably in the top 10 dumbest things I’ve ever heard.

    Worse than that… nova owns the other 9 top 10 dumbest things I’ve ever heard (Dan Quayle’s correction of the spelling of potato still receives an honorable mention… as does this gem: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKgPY1adc0A).

    Hey Wimme201, yeah that was something!  Oh, did I remember to mention to you that Golden Retrievers are great dogs?  My neighbor has one and it is a character, a totally shameless flirt.  Not much as a bugler alarm but great with children.

    Hello Bluemont: I had a golden retriever when I was a kid.  They are great!  If I were going to give a gift to Rep. Moran, it would be a golden retriever.

    @Hank – yep, they are great.  Another friend of mine had one years ago that would always lie down and put his head in my lap when I sat on the floor.  Being that I’m now over 50, sitting on the floor is not my preferred posture.  The downward move is OK, it is the getting up that is a bit “creaky”!

    @sansabelt and @John Fontain.  ROFL!!!!

    And the Fox and Friends skit? PERFECT!

    At least Fox doesn’t employ Al Sharpton. You liberals have no standing to criticize any media group. Now perhaps back to the topic? Does entering politics mean that you and your family members get reduced amounts of privacy? Is the governor’s wife his personal property? Kind of like how women weren’t held criminally liable, their husbands were. We need to go back to the 19th century!

    No one is criticizing any media group. Has the humor gone over your head?  The subject is comedy skits, and it is not Fox News that is being criticized.  But, just to show that comedy skits also make fun of your arch enemy, that mean old liberal Al Sharpton

    “They’re all bad…but liberals are way worse!!”  I love that 2nd grade logic.

    Yes, when you enter into politics you and your family can expect reduced privacy. Everything you have ever and will ever say and do will be scrutinized. The spouse of a politician is not property. We are never going back to the 19th century.

    @wimmer201, I had a mutt in 2nd grade that followed me to school. My Dad had to drive to school in his VW Bug and take the dog home.  Pepper was a great dog, even if he bit people.
