Staten Island residents (should move to ARL).

Many elected officials in Arlington, you know the Congressman and the County Board, that are totally without clues are never asked hard questions. Only soft-ball questions. That is why we are losing business, agencies, etc. We need smart citizens asking hard questions, like the school administrator to Rep. Anthony Weiner (aka, Mr. Carlos Danger) yesterday.

Why ARL residents do not ask hard questions? Let us get rid of each and every elected official. We can tell them: This is nothing personal, just business. We need new blood, period.

Check this out and see the 4th of July style of our democracy in action. Too bad the whole video is not available, http://www.cnn.com/video/data/2.0/video/bestoftv/2013/07/26/exp-weiner-heated-exchange.cnn.html.

AKB, thank you for an enlightening post. Assuredly you have asked those hard questions to the Board at their bi-weekly open Q&A sessions.

Maybe if we get Rep. Weiner (D-Twitter) on board in advance, we can line him up before he pulls out in N.Y.

    Pun intended.

As far as constructive feedback on the effectiveness of county government goes, I have nothing productive to add to this discussion. Mainly, I just wanted to use the D-Twitter thing. Pulling out kinda came out of nowhere but it’s par for the course in my book. It may or may not make sense because from what I understand, there was little to no penetration involved in this round of scandal. Yet… *shifty eyes*
